All MDL customers, from the largest multinational research giant to the most recently formed biotech start-up, have one thing in common: a repository of proprietary chemical and related discovery data upon which their organization’s future rests. The last thing any company wants to do is jeopardize the ability of its scientists to access this data. Which is why MDL has focused so much of its energy in recent years on ensuring a smooth transition from its popular ISIS molecule gateway to its new Oracle-based offerings: the Relational Chemical Gateway (RCG), first released for ISIS/Host in 1998, and ISIS/Direct, MDL’s chemical data cartridge released less than a year ago.
MDL's migration tools handle much of
the "getting there" automatically. In most cases, customers can move to the RCG by running an automated utility that converts their databases from the molecule gate-way format to the relational format.
